Hi, my name is Clémence, I’m the founder and photographer of passerby. Every other month, I share my own version of our monthly recs series featuring a mix of my open tabs and what I’m listening to, watching, and enjoying — things I hope you’ll enjoy as well. This month, I’m sharing Italian brands that are going into my saved search rotation, favorite vintage stores in Milan, an alternative to Noguchi paper lamps and more.

italian brands i’d never heard of that are now saved in my vinted/the real real searches

  • Mila Schön: A highlight of my Milan Design Week trip was visiting Vintage Delirium, where I connected with the owner, who introduced me to their extensive Mila Schön archive. Dubbed “the feminine Courrèges” in the 1960s, she came to fashion after losing her fortune post-WWII; not wanting to give up wearing beautiful dresses — and needing to make a living — she hired a few seamstresses and brought her designs to life (There’s a great Vogue article that describes her work far better than I can.) She was also one of the first fashion designers to create haute couture uniforms, notably designing sleek outfits for Alitalia flight attendants in the late 1960s and for Iran Air.
